Ooweee

I know what you’re thinking… but I had the pickiest Southern eater I know try this, and they said it was AMAZING. You won’t even notice the chia seeds—they soften and blend so perfectly with the strawberry jam. And the chicken sausage? It’s the ideal meal-preppable protein addition to your morning routine.

Equipment List:

  • Medium saucepan

  • Large mixing bowl

  • Spatula or wooden spoon

  • Measuring spoons

  • Frying pan

  • Tongs

  • Toaster or oven

Chef Tips:

  1. Use frozen berries for convenience – They’re already washed, and they break down quickly when cooked, making the jam easier to prepare.

  2. Let the chia seeds do the work – Chia seeds naturally thicken when mixed with liquid. Let the jam sit to achieve the perfect consistency without any added pectin.

  3. Chill your sausage mix – Before forming patties, chill the ground chicken mixture for 15-20 minutes. It helps with shaping and gives the flavors more time to meld.

  4. Sear for flavor – Don’t rush the sausage patties. Let them brown fully on each side to develop a rich, savory crust that elevates the flavor.
